Adventure course

Join us at our exciting, purpose built adventure course. This is guaranteed to get your team thinking and to bring smiles all around. The Adventure Course offers a wide variety of activities where the focus is on challenging individuals and fostering a sense of belonging in a fun, non-threatening environment.

At the end of the course, the facilitators will lead the participants in a debrief of the team dynamics. Insights are gained around effective team process, the role each individual plays in making or breaking a team and the dynamics of supporting others so the entire company wins.

The Adventure Course is a great way to get your team to think laterally and to challenge themselves to step outside their comfort zone. Fun activities that require team work and interaction are a good way to get your team feeling comfortable around each other and to promote effective communication. We like to get your team ‘working and laughing together’ creating a safe, non-threatening environment where effective teamwork can be nurtured.

Splitting your group into two or more teams and allowing members to cheer, support and help one another goes a long way towards helping your team as a whole to form a unique identity as a workforce. A healthy competitive attitude is encouraged, but the focus remains that the key to being a good competitor (and thereby achieving set goals) is working together as a unit and communicating effectively with your team members.

The beauty of the Adventure Course is its flexibility; we can tailor the event to suit your specific requirements. The focus of the event is up to you, and we discuss your needs with our professional facilitator beforehand to ensure that your team walks away with the results you desire. Sunscene’s personal, tailored approach to each event means that your input is welcomed and will play an important role in how the event is structured on the day.

The Adventure Course team building event is weather dependant.  In the event of heavy rain, we would need to reschedule.  We monitor the weather constantly and will try to give you as much warning as possible if the weather is looking unsuitable for your chosen date.

Team building activities:

• Giant Cargo Net - 17 meters long and 4 meters high. Work out the best method of climbing the net and the fastest way of getting across the top section.
• Wonky Bridge - This 12m long suspension bridge hangs freely in the air. Every step you take causes it to bounce wildly, and twist out of control.
•  Climbing Wall – climbing holds have been setup on a giant Gum tree. The higher you go the more difficult it gets!
• Zip Slide (foofie slide) – this 130m long slide starts off on a platform in the trees, 12 meters above the ground. It travels out of the forest and over a dam to guarantee an adrenalin pumping experience. The zip slide adheres to all necessary safety standards. Clients are secured in a special harness and suspended from a free running pulley which runs along a steel cable. You will experience extreme acceleration as you descend down the wire.
• Paintball Target Shooting with catapults – using ballistic catapults and biodegradable paintballs, the further away the target, the more points you score.
• Uneven Posts – different diameter posts, standing up out of the ground at various heights of 10 – 60cm.
• Bosuns Chairs - A number of wooden seats, suspended in the air, and hanging on ropes. Try cross from one side of the set to the other, it\\\’s not as easy as it sounds!
• Angled Balance Beams - 3 balance beams in a ‘Z’ shape, about 50cm off the ground. A good test of balance as the beams see-saw as you move along them.
• African Formula 1 – a tyre race along a winding forest course. A good team strategy and quick pit stops are essential to ensure victory.
• Live Wire – your team needs to move along 5 cables running between the trees using overhead ropes, each other and their lateral thinking skills to get to the finishing deck. Team work is essential.
• Spider\\\’s Web - a corridor of rope web requiring agility and suppleness to navigate. Try not to touch the rope as you twist your way through the web!
• Stand Together - try to get as many team members on one thick tree stump as possible. The only way to succeed is with teamwork and trust.
• Over&Out - solid vertical assualt wall. You\\\’ll need your teammates to help you over this one!
• Raft Building - design the blueprint for the perfect raft. Use barrels, poles and ropes to build a craft capable of completing a team relay across the dam.
